Abuse of the Baha’i Elderly!

Adyannet – On the morning of Wednesday, 3 July 2019, the dissident media affiliated with the Baha’i organization reported the failed attempt of local housing authorities to seal a nursing home in Golshahr, Karaj. As we read in the text of one of these news agencies: “Continuing the pressure and harassment of the Baha’i community, the officials of the Public Places Supervision Office and employees of the Karaj Welfare Organization tried to evict the homeless elders and seal the place. It is said that despite the fact that the officials of the Welfare Organization had the eviction order of the Karaj Prosecutor’s Office with them, they were unable to do so due to the elders’ refusing to transfer.”

In examining the currents of this incident, it is necessary to consider some points:

Point 1: As acknowledged by the Baha’i and dissident news agencies, the above-mentioned nursing homes have been operating without a licence for several years and, consequently, have been heedless of the warnings from the Public Places Supervision Office, the Welfare Organization and the Prosecutor’s Office.

Part of the report states that Baha’i elders held up printed placards in the presence of the officials of the Public Places Supervision and prosecutors who wanted to seal the premises. By pretending to be oppressed, this had become the subject of filming for publication in news agencies opposed to the Islamic Revolution. The placards read, “End the persecution of the Baha’i elderly in Iran (Karaj), this is our home” which clearly indicates a premeditated act and news abuse by the Baha’i organization.

Contrary to the dissident media’s misuse of the incident (alleging harassment of the Baha’i community), it was reported in part that prosecutors and the Public Places Supervision Office were trying to move the elderly from one illegal facility to another, which is contrary to the claim of displacement of the Baha’i elderly. On the other hand, this confession shows the compassionate view of the Islamic Republic towards the parents of Baha’i traitors and fugitive elements abroad, as, for their safety and health, it prevents them from being present in an illegal centre.

Another point that stands out in the publication of this news is the alignment of the American, British, and Zionist opposition and counter-revolutionary media such as VOA, BBC, Manoto, Radio Farda and puppets such as Masih Alinejad, with the counter-revolutionary elements of the Baha’i organization inside the country.
