In a confidential report (dated 30 Ramadan 1318 AH [21 January 1901], the Iranian representative in the United States informed the Iranian authorities of the presence and activities of the Baha’is in the American city of Chicago. In a report dated 12 Jumada al-Awwal in 1319 [27 August 1901], the Iranian delegation noted that the Baha’is closely followed the Iranian news and did not shy away from putting pressure on the Iranian government to further liberate the Baha’is in Iran [through] U.S. political and cultural circles.
