Religious Questions

The Opinion of Four Marja’-i-Taqlid [Religious Jurisprudence Authorities] About the Baha’is

The Proposed Questions:

1- Is Baha’ism a perverse and deviant religion

2- Are Baha’is najis[1]?

3- From the Sharia point of view, are Baha’is allowed to propagate their religion in the country?

Responses:

Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei:

In general, avoid any association with this perverse and misleading sect.

1- Yes. They are completely perverted.

2- Yes. They are najis.

3- Since they cause people to become deviant and go astray, they are not allowed to propagate [their religion].

His Holiness Ayatollah Noori Hamedani

1- Yes. This is a perverse sect and very deviant.

2- They are more najis than dogs, and it is a self-made religion.

3- It is forbidden to propagate their religion, since they tend to be infidels and cause people to apostatize.

His Holiness Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi

1- Yes. Baha’is are considered infidels.

2- Baha’is are infidels, apostates and najis.

3- From the Sharia point of view, propagating this sect is forbidden because the Baha’is are najis and infidels.

His Holiness Ayatollah Vahid Khorasani:

1- Yes.

2- They are najis, since they are infidels.

3- They are not allowed to propagate their faith since they are a perverse sect.
