The Religious Minorities

Last week, one of the newspapers, knowingly or unknowingly, attacked the Jewish people.

The military governor of Tehran, who is vigilant and also smart, confiscated it [the newspaper], since some may have, knowingly or unknowingly, attacked the religious minorities, and this action had big drawbacks. Amongst other things, it was possible for the Baha’i sect to be considered a religious minority, while it is not so…

The prominent clergy and religious leaders have called on the government and the state officials to eradicate the Baha’i sect. The government has also approved this [action] following the sources of religious authorities, and the law enforcement officers, without allowing the slightest convulsion to take place, have performed their duties in recent days and have implemented the decrees of the Islamic scholars and trustees of Islam ... in the best possible way. But the fact that some people want to attack religious minorities in the face of the purge of society [means that they] must be completely prevented.

If some are trying by obeying the orders of the religious scholars … to declare the purification of the society from one group, and making it the means of attacking the religious minorities, ….it is against the high intention of the executors of the true laws of Islam.…
