Soheil Houshmand was born in a house adjacent to the House of the Bab in Shiraz. He was a high school graduate with a certificate in plumbing and earned a modest living. A few months after the revolution, two men attacked and beat him severely while on his way to work. On another occasion, a number of Pasdars raided his home, and in his absence confiscated all his books and personal documents. Then on 7 October 1982, while waiting for his fiancé in front of a store, he was arrested. He was detained temporarily at the Sepah Detention Centre and later transferred to Adelabad prison. He was tortured severely during his imprisonment. He was executed by hanging on 28 June 1982. He was 24 years old at the time of his execution.
