Tehran: Six Baha’is detained in Tehran were released on bail

On 11 March 2009 (21 Esfand 1387), five of the six Baha’i prisoners in Tehran were released on bail. [They were] Mr. Aziz Samandari, Mrs. Jinous Sobhani, Mr. Didar Raoufi, and Mr. Payam Aghsani—who had been detained in Evin Prison in Tehran since 14 January 2009 (25 Dey 1387)—along with Mr. Nima Haghar, whose house was searched on 14 January, but was later arrested on 1 February 2009. They were all released on 11 March [2009]. The amount of bail set for these people is an exorbitant amount, approximately equal to seventy-five thousand [U.S.] dollars (seventy million tumans).

According to the latest reports, the sixth member of this group, Mr. Shahrokh Taef, who was being held in solitary confinement, was released on 17 March 2009 (27 Esfand 1387) on bail equivalent to the same amount.
