In an Extraordinary Meeting, Provincial Council Deals with Dismissal of Baha’i Employees.
Mashhad – In response to repeated reminders from Mashhad’s clergy to Mr. Raum, the Governor General of Khorasan, about the dismissal of the Baha’i employees from government departments in accordance with the Governor General’s instructions, an extraordinary meeting of the Provincial Council was held in the Province. In accordance with an invitation issued by the Deputy Governor General, the Mayor, Mr. Massoudi, and all the heads of governmental and military departments, as well as the trusted city authorities, gathered and having discussed the matter and exchanged ideas about it, it was decided that, the head of each department is to investigate those employees who are accused of being Baha’is. Should it be proved that they are Baha’is, the Personnel Offices are to immediately dismiss them and report on their action to the Governor General’s Office. Meanwhile, Brigadier General Vaseghi, the Deputy Commander of the Army’s 8th Legion of Khorasan, added that should those who are not authorized [to act in this matter] and who have interfered by creating disorder and chaos, will be seriously prosecuted by the forces of Law Enforcement agencies.
