The Baha’i Centre in Yazd Has Been Occupied

Yazd – Because the feelings and the honour of the patriotic Muslim people of Yazd have been provoked in the last few days by the speeches of Mr. Falsafi on Tehran Radio, and also because the news from the centre was charged, there was an alert about possible unpleasant events and disorder in the city.

To calm the outrage of the fanatics and to prevent chaos and disorder, the Baha’i centre of Yazd was confiscated yesterday by the law enforcement authorities, and the Baha’is themselves have been put under tight control so as to prevent them from any attempts or instigations. The people have also been sending letters and telegrams to the higher authorities of the country and the residents have collected many petitions to be submitted to His Highness the Shah and Ayatollah Borujerdi as well as to the members of parliament and Mr. Falsafi. For now, the situation in the City of Yazd seems to be somewhat quiet.
