Shir-Mohammad Dastpish

Born: 25 March 1938, Kata, Boyer-Ahmad

Murdered in Buyr-Ahmad in December 1978

On December 1978, during the upheavals in the village of Kata, Shir-Mohammad Dastpish was in charge of organising the friends to flee the village.  When he was warned by two of his Muslim relatives to immediately leave the village, he refused saying that he would be the last Baha’i to leave and would stay to help the others.  He was beaten badly as a result.  He then gathered his family together and took them to the nearby village of Falard.  He returned to Kata, and in the afternoon when all the Baha’is had left, he mounted on his motorcycle back towards Falard.  While on the way he was murdered.
