Esteemed Human Rights Commission of the United Nations

With respect, I wish to convey the following. My only daughter, Molouk Khadem, who, throughout her life, has been a helper and guide to this humble servant, Shamsi Khadem, a disabled 90-year-old mother, has now spent 42 months in prison because of her belief in the Baha’i Faith, and she is currently imprisoned at Evin [Prison], section 4, upper room number 2. I have submitted requests to the responsible agents and relevant authorities for her release, so that she might resume helping me in my old age and at the end of my life. Unfortunately, no action has been taken thus far. Her arrest has been reported to the Baha’i International Community in Geneva. I continue to remain patient and steadfast and keep my hope in His confirmations; for, “He doeth as He willeth; and what recourse have we?” This statement has been shared for your information.

Your humble servant, Shamsi Khadem
