The Esteemed Head of the Imam’s Investigating [Amnesty] Commission

Following the letter submitted on 11 Aban 1362 [2 November 1983] regarding the release of my two daughters, Touran and Molouk Khadem, I, Shamsi Khadem, 86 years old, residing at [redacted], would like to inform you that some officers contacted me on behalf of the Commission. They have not taken any further action

since the imam has issued instructions, and in line with the words of the great Ayatollah Montazeri, who has repeatedly stated, “Release the innocent prisoners”, I humbly request you to attend to the request of this elderly and frail woman and send instructions for taking action in this regard, that I maybe enabled to glance at my children once again, during these final days of my life. I am living in the hope of their freedom and am looking forward to your prompt action.
