The Text of the Letter From Grand Ayatollah Borujerdi, the Shiite Religious Jurisprudence Authority of the World, Addressed to Mr. Falsafi, the Famous Preacher About the Struggle Against the Baha’is

In the Name of God, the Merciful the Compassionate

Esteemed Seqat-ol-Islam, Mr Falsafi, may your mercy be perpetuated,

This is to inform Your Esteemed Honour that the valuable services that you have rendered in these few days to the holy religion of Islam―and, in general, to [all] the religions, to the Holy Quran, and in general, to all heavenly books, to the independence of the country and the preservation of the monarchy; the government, the army, all the people of Iran and the Muslims of the world―by removing some of the thick veils that a political party under the name of the Baha’i sect has spread over its intention for over a hundred years, through its well-organized institutions―spending an enormous amount of money from unknown sources and advertising openly against the official religion of the country, which naturally causes national unity, and against the monarchy and the government, and by revealing some of their identity―have not only delighted this humble [servant] and the Muslims, but also the Imam of the Time, may our souls be a sacrifice to Him.

Although the true nature of the matter has not yet been revealed, and the pulpit statements do not have the power to discover more than this, the seriousness of the government, as it has been successful in similar cases, can gradually discover the harmful networks and save the country from harm.

I think the wise men of the country are of the opinion that the harm of this group to the independence of the country is much greater [than this], because there is a difference between an enemy who declares enmity and an enemy who considers himself a friend. And there is also a difference between an enemy who attacks a strong castle without having the means to destroy it and an enemy who destroys it from the beginning with those means.

In conclusion, I would like to point out that this infamous party has infiltrated many aspects of the country and the government, and the letters and telegrams that come from the cities are completely indicative of this meaning. For example, consider: A mob enters the house of a poor, impoverished old woman, who is lying on the ground in the middle of the night with her five innocent young children, and brutally mutilates them with the shovel and pickaxe. Only at the insistence of the Muslims and with knowledge of some information, only one person is executed and the rest are to be left alone. This means that the sect has full influence in the state institutions. Therefore, the most important thing in this position is the separation of the departments, the ministers and the sensitive posts of the country from this sect.

We ask God Almighty to strengthen the holy religion of Islam and the Jafari’s holy sect and confirm the community that strives to promote it.
