In the Name of God, the Most Clement, the Most Merciful

“Whenever a heresy –which is [something] against religion- appears, it is incumbent upon any knowledgeable person to show his knowledge.  Otherwise the curse of God be on him.”[1]

According to this Hadith as quoted from the Prophet, in recent days we saw there were some criticisms about one of the religious acts, namely the demolition of the [national] “Haziratu’l-Quds”,[2] which was the house promoting prostitution, corruption, and propagation of the perverse religion of Baha’is.  This means that with the approval of His Majesty the Shah, Defender of Islam, and the cooperation of military forces which are indeed the Army of Islam, and in the presence of Major General Batmanghelich, the Head of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces, [the government] decided to demolish [the edifice], and for the purpose of attaining  their [spiritual] worldly intentions, and to carry out their religious obligations, in compliance with the orders of the Royal Defender of Islam, the first blow of the pickaxe of destruction upon that structure of corruption and blasphemy and atheism was delivered by Major General Batmanghelich, Head of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces, which was noted by all spiritual centres and all Muslims of Iran and the world.  It even obtained the special attention of His Holiness Imam Wali-e Asr[3] and has certainly evoked the approval of his Holiness, our Royal Majesty.

But unfortunately, with utmost regret, it seems this collaboration in the demolition of the Haziratu’l-Quds building has been reprimanded in some gatherings (although the Clerics’ Associations do not interfere in political affairs), it [the Clerics’ Associations] proclaims its utmost and explicit aversion and hatred regarding this admonishment.

The Clerics’ Associations of Iran, and particularly the clerics of Qom, have demonstrated that they have not and do not engage, even to the smallest extent, in intervening in political and other affairs of state.  But this matter is being protested as it is a religious obligation, so that from now on, the enemies of religion will not be able to insult Islamic precepts under the label of politics.  They must especially know that this objection to the action of the Head of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces, is a direct insult to God and the Prophet and all Imams and will cause the fury of Wali-e Asr, and evokes the aversion and hatred of all of religious society, and must be rectified.

We hope this serious concern will be removed as soon as possible and in accordance with the praiseworthy habit of his Royal Majesty in performance of his religious duties and for the protection of sacred Islamic rites and the eradication of the enemies of the holy Religion of Islam, in whatever appearance or designation they may be, that he may not show any leniency or indifference in this matter.  God willing, may praise be upon those who follow the Path of God, and upon them be His mercy and His grace.”
