Arrest of two Baha’is in Yazd

Latest news from Iran:

On 1 March 2009 (11 Esfand 1387), Messrs. Rostam Behifar and Peyman Rouhi were summoned to the local office of the Ministry of Intelligence in Yazd and subsequently arrested. No further information is available at this time. As previously reported, on 11 December 2008 (21 Azar 1387), the agents searched the house of Mr. Rostam Behifar, and whatever items related to his being a Baha’i were confiscated. As Mr. Behifar was not at home at the time of the search, the officers told Mr. Behifar’s family that he should report to the relevant office upon his return, but Mr. Behifar refused to comply with this request due to the lack of a ruling in this regard.
