Resalat reporter: The general meeting of the Islamic Consultative Assembly was convened yesterday with Mr. Hashemi Rafsanjani as its speaker

At the general meeting of the Islamic Consultative Assembly on Tuesday, the first task suggested was to follow up on the investigation of the report of the second consultation of the Legal and Judicial Affairs Commission concerning the bill on the reestablishment of the Lawyers’ Association. In the previous session, the first and the second chapters were reviewed. The third chapter is about the rules governing the reestablishment of the Lawyers’ Association, and below are the highlights of the discussions of the members of the Islamic Parliament for your kind review.

Article 10 - ….

c) Those subject to one of the following:

1. Reputation for moral corruption; 2. Demonstrating corrupt manners; 3. Addiction to alcohol and narcotics; 4. Committing acts of dishonour and indignity, such as lawyers making deals with the clients for their own interest and contrary to the interest of the client without his or her consent; 5. Using the facilities of the Lawyers’ Association for the advancement of the goals of the anti- revolutionary groups or groups whose activities have been banned by the righteous authorities; 6. Membership in perverse sects, who are known by all Muslims to be outside of Islam, or membership in organizations whose decrees and ordinances are based on the denial of divine religions; 7. Continuation of membership in and organizational support of illegal groups after they have been declared illegal.
