His Holiness Grand Ayatollah Imam Khomeini, May His Blessing Continue
By decree of the Islamic Republic Court of Tabriz, once more an unrelenting death warrant was issued and executed against an oppressed and innocent person due to [his] being a Baha’i, in the month of Muharram-al-Haram, leaving a family deeply distressed and mournful and leaving a great number of people infinitely sorrowful and heartbroken. Such an action is neither in accordance with the Islamic justice, nor is in the interest of the State at these critical times. It is requested that you issue appropriate orders to investigate the nature of the incident and follow up [illegible], reclaim the reputation of the slain person, and warn the authorities of the dire results that the tears shed by the orphans and the sighs of the afflicted ones may bring about, so that they may prevent a repetition of similar painful events.
