The Letter from the Shah to His Highness Ayatollah Boroujerdi and Ayatollah Behbahani

A few days ago, in an effort to close down the operation of Baha’is in Iran, a letter was sent by His Highness Grand Ayatollah Boroujerdi and His Highness Ayatollah Behbahani to His Excellency the Shah, stating the wishes of the Muslim people.  His Excellency the Shah bestowed a response in his own handwriting and, through the minister of interior, Mr. Alam, forwarded it to Ayatollah Behabahani in Tehran, and through a high-ranking staff member of the court of the shah, to Ayatollah Boroujerdi in Qom. Owing to the highly sensitive nature of those letters, in sealed and stamped envelopes, their contents have not yet been revealed. However, it is forecast that the king has given a supportive response.

Clearly, in light of the political situation in the world, we hope that this perverse sect will be eliminated in a way that will not cause turmoil in the country or enable foreign regimes to take advantage of it, and that the vigilant people of Iran will fight them in a wise manner and ask the shah and the government to defeat and annihilate this sect.
