Telegram from Nehru to the Government of Iran

It has been heard that Mr. Nehru, Prime Minister of India, has sent a telegram of 400 words about the Baha’is.

Setareh Islam – We do not have the text of this telegram, nor are we aware of the truth or falsehood of the message.  However, should it be true, it should be said that Iran, contrary to India, which is composed of many different tribes, groups, and religions, is a country in which the vast majority of its [population] are Muslims and Islam, under the Constitution [of Iran], is considered the official religion of the government and nation of Iran.

Therefore, this government and nation is entitled to seek to limit [the activities of] those who are trying to disunite the nation with lies and corrupt beliefs, and Mr. Nehru does not have the right to interfere in Iran’s internal affairs.
