The Decision to Disassociate With the Baha’is
It Behoves Other Factions and Guilds to follow
The famous orator and scholarly preacher, Mr. Haj Sheikh Morteza Ansari, announced the day before yesterday in the Mosque of Arg that, “The esteemed guilds of tailors and textile traders of Tehran have decided to oblige themselves religiously, and from now on will abstain from dealing and trading with the Baha’is in any way.” He also read the announcement that the mentioned guilds had signed on the pulpit.
His Honour Mr. Ansari, after expressing appreciation for this decision, invited other guilds and classes to follow the action of the tailors and clothing guilds and presented much evidence that if Muslims were to disassociate with this sect, it would certainly bring about very good effects and satisfactory results.
His honour was saying, “O Muslims, you are not less than the infidels of Mecca who, although being wrong, refused to deal with the Holy Prophet of Islam and his companions for three years, and stood up firmly as men. You who consider yourselves the true followers of the Quran and Islam, should leave association and trade with this perverse sect and strive in the path of service to Islam, as much as the infidels of Mecca did.
In the afternoons, the Mosque of Arg, which is one of the best and most beautiful mosques in Tehran, because of the beneficial statements and sweet sermons of Mr. Haj Sheikh Morteza Ansari, is full of people. The high side and low side of the mosque [every corner], and even its roof, become inaccessible and several thousand people enjoy his great sermon from the pulpit.
We pray to God Almighty for the survival of the esteemed preachers of Islam and the religious preachers everywhere and in every position, and we hope that, God willing, the sermons and advice of these men will fall effective in the minds of the Muslims.
