Summoning of Baha’i Citizens Living in Shiraz to the Revolutionary Court - Increasing the Number Individuals Summoned to 30

HRANA News Agency – Following the widespread summoning of Baha’i citizens to the judicial institutes in Shiraz, five other Baha’i citizens named Noushin Zenhari, Esmail Rousta, Behnam Azizpour, Saied Hasani and Ramin Shirvani were summoned to the Revolutionary Court of this city for their final defence. The summoning of these citizens was related to the cases that had been opened against them in 1395 [2016] by the Ministry of Intelligence. In addition, at least twenty-five other Baha’i citizens have been summoned to the Shiraz Revolutionary Court in recent days.

In this summons, which was received by these citizens on Saturday 24 Esfand [14 March], they were asked to report to Branch 10 of the Revolutionary Court of Shiraz within 7 days to obtain their final defence.

The summoning of these citizens took place while according to a directive previously signed by the deputy of the judicial system, Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejeie, to control the spread of Corona, all judicial units have been asked, “The time of the trials has been renewed and postponed to after the crisis, and the time for hearing the usual cases should be set after Farvardin [March/April]. Also, avoid unnecessary summons and arrests”.

Taking into account these people, the number of Baha’i citizens who have been summoned to the Shiraz Revolutionary Court in recent days has reached 30.

In a report yesterday HRANA informed of the summoned 21 of these citizens named “Marjan Gholampour, Mojgan Gholampour, Farbud Shadman, Farzad Shadman, Parisa Rouhizadegan, Shamim Akhlaghi and his wife Sahba Farahbakhsh, Sahba Moslehi and his wife Ahdiyeh Enayati, Mahyar Sefidi his wife Shadi Sadegh Aghdam, Vargha Kaviani, Soroush Ighani, Maryam Eslami, Yekta Fahandej Saadi, Nabil Tahzib, Samar Ashenaie, Rezvan Yazdani, Lala Salehi, Nasim Kashani and Bahareh Nowrouzi and in another report it has informed of the summoned 4 other Baha’i citizens named Niloufar Hakimi, Farzan Masoumi, Shahnaz Sabet, and Farham Sabet, to present themselves for their final defence at Branch 10 of the Revolutionary Court of Shiraz.

It should be noted that Noushin Zenhari, Esmail Rousta, Behnam Azizpour, Saied Hasani and Ramin Shirvani, along with a number of other Baha’i citizens were arrested by Ministry of Intelligence agents in Tir 1395 [June/July 2016] for a period of one month to seventy days and released on bail of 200 million tumans.

The charges against the five citizens were “membership in an ani-government group” and “propaganda activities against the regime.”
