Parliamentary Credentials of Ali-Akbar Moein-far Passed by Overwhelming Majority.
Yesterday, the Islamic Council [Majlis], held an open meeting, during which the Parliamentary credentials of Ali-Akbar Moein-far, representative from Tehran, passed with a resounding majority of 153 votes. Also, a letter from Mohammad Ali Rejaie, the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, was read to the Majlis.
Talk by Representative from Fouman
Following the foregoing and while opposing, Mr. Haeri Foumani [credentials] stated in dissent: “The issue I wish to emphasize today is the matter of incompetent management by Mr. Moein-far in the Oil Company, which has become the headquarters for anti-revolutionary forces paid for by the United States. We are constantly talking about expertise. About 5-6 months ago, we were informed that an assembly has been formed by the Baha’is. Our brethren went into that meeting and saw that the majority of them comprised the high ranking officers of the Oil Company. Here, the religious aspect of Baha’ism is not the issue. Baha’ism has been a means of penetrating into Islamic countries. But what I am concerned about is its political aspects. We found a document there containing minutes of a meeting at which great praise was given to the obliterated Hoveyda, and the defeated and fallen Shah was held in high regard as the great savior of this faith. The Islamic Republic regime, and particularly the Supreme Leader, were referred to in the most insulting terms, and then they had issued instructions to all Baha’i assemblies saying that, ‘Our duty is to do our utmost to topple the Islamic Republic regime and the person of the Supreme Leader.”
