153 individuals will be dismissed from the Department of Education, Eastern Azerbaijan

Tabriz—The director general of the Eastern Azerbaijan Department of Education, in an interview with Ettelaat Newspaper, announced that 153 employees and teachers would be dismissed from this department.

Dr. Nayerivand, the director general of the Eastern Azerbaijan Department of Education, said, “During this week, 30 teachers who were affiliated with the disbanded SAVAK, and approximately 50 Baha’i teachers [and] educators, will be dismissed.”

He added, “Such dismissals are carried out in a careful and analytical manner; 73 individuals who have been terminated earlier were SAVAK associates amongst teachers.”

Dr. Nayerivand added, “If the Baha’is accept Islam as the true religion/without reservation, they will be able to return to their employment; otherwise their cases will be referred to the Tabriz Revolutionary Court to be considered”.
