I am Mahmoud Forouhar, son of Shokrollah, holder of birth certificate number [redacted], issued from Abadeh in Fars. At this hour, when I have been sentenced to execution according to the unjust accusations, which are far from the truth, I express my faith and belief in the “Unity of God” and the “Truth of all the Prophets of God”. I declare with clarity my faith and certitude in the station of resurrection and the Herald and Announcer of good news, His Holiness Siyyid Ali-Mohammad, the Bab, and the Manifestation of God, His Holiness Baha’u’llah, and His Successor. I beg the Almighty God to shower His forgiveness upon me.
[Handwritten note at the bottom of the page]
This letter was found torn apart in Mr. Forouhar's pocket. It is probable that while he was busy writing his Will, the authorities of the prison did not find its content according to their wish, and took it away from him and tore it [up]. Then they forced him to write another Will.
The late Mr. Forouhar must have collected the pieces of that letter at a later stage and kept them in his pocket, where, after his execution [martyrdom], it was found.
