Mr. Engineer Mehdi Bazargan, Prime Minister of the Provisional Government of Islamic Republic of Iran

Copy to Mr. Amir Entezam, Esteemed Deputy Prime Minister and Government Spokesman

Copy to Dr. Hoveyda, Head of Mostazafan Foundation

We respectfully informed you that, according to statements made by Mr. Amir Entezam, the Esteemed Deputy Prime Minister and Government Spokesman, and as announced in the published notices in the capital newspapers, the Nation’s Honourable Leader, His Holiness Grand Ayatollah Imam Khomeini and the Government, consider the confiscation of properties as against the Holy Religion of Islam. There have been no orders issued on His behalf to [support] the confiscation of properties.  However, despite the above directives, all properties and institutions owned by the Bahá’í community of Iran have been confiscated; in some instances, destroyed and demolished by bulldozers.  We would like to plead for justice on behalf of this community and request that orders be issued by the relevant authorities to stop such aggression.

With utmost respect, on behalf of the Bahá’í community of Iran

Dr. Hosein Nadji

Manouher Ghaem-Maghami
