Kourosh Talaie was born into a Baha’i family. In 1953, his family pioneered to Amol, Mazandaran and after three years they moved back to Tehran. He obtained a post graduate degree in Engineering Architecture from Tehran University. Upon the completion of military services, he secured employment with the Umana Company in 1973. After the destruction of the House of The Bab in Shiraz during the early stages of the new Islamic regime, Kourosh dedicated his time and energy restoring that sacred Place.
He was elected on the Local Spiritual Assembly of the Baha’is of Tehran in 1980. He was arrested on 2 November 1981 during a Spiritual Assembly meeting along with five other members plus the two hosts of the Assembly meeting. They were imprisoned in Evin prison. On 4 January 1982 Kourosh, the five members of the Local Spiritual Assembly; Khosrow Mohandesi, Fathollah Ferdowsi, Eskandar Azizi, Ataollah Yavari, Shiva Mahmoudi Asadollah-Zadeh, and their hostess Mrs Shidrokh Amir-Kiya (Bagha) were all executed by the firing squad. Their bodies were not returned to their families; they were possibly buried by the government authorities.
