Ayatollah Dastghaib: Enemies Want to Create Disunity between the People and the Army;

People Have Been Armed in Many Cities of Fars Province

His Holiness, Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Abdul-Hussein Dastghaib, in an interview with Kayhan’s correspondent in Shiraz, stated his point of view. Part of this interview is as follows:

…You [asked] the non-Muslim agents of these massacres, “Do you mean that being a Muslim must be obligatory [compulsory] for the army men?

Ayatollah Dastghaib: “Absolutely this is what I mean! I have said time and again that the religious minorities in Iran will all be respectful, yet at the sensitive posts, especially in the army and armed forces, only Muslims should be present, because the lives, the possessions and the honour of Muslims are all dependent on their decisions. Here in Shiraz, the atrocious event carried out at the Saadi Town was [perpetrated] by the army, whose members were Baha’is. Even the event of the massacre of the Habib Mosque was carried out by a Baha’i individual who had put on an army uniform.”
