In Today’s Open Session of the Islamic Consultative Assembly:

Two more Articles from the “Amendments for limiting of the President’s Power and Responsibilities” were approved.

Political Service of Kayhan – Today four representatives of the Assembly in their “opening Remarks” spoke about various issues.  During the today’s session, the “Amendments for limiting of the President’s Power and Responsibilities” were also discussed and two more articles of this Bill were approved.

The speaker added:  “I ask all my countrymen from inside and outside of the country and other free countries to come and investigate.  Should Iran have executed anyone because of having another religion or ideology; we will concede [our wrongdoing], of course as long as they have neither attempted to overthrow the Islamic Government nor engaged in espionage.  Even when someone has been executed, it has only been for those reasons and records of exist [to prove this].  All countries execute [such individuals] and so it should be!

Therefore, it is not true that if a person follows another religion or ideology in the Islamic Republic of Iran, he/she will be condemned or executed.
