Ayatollah Borujerdi’s Views on the Fight Against Baha’ism

Some Members of Parliament Have Drawn up a Tier-Three Urgency Plan to Boycott Baha’is and Confiscate the Property and Furniture of Baha’i Propaganda Centres in Favour of Government.

The Text of the Letter from Grand Ayatollah Borujerdi, Addressed to Mr. Falsafi, the Famous Preacher, About the Fight Against the Baha’is

In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful

Seqat-ol-Eslam, Mr. Falsafi, may your benedictions be continuous;

[You have rendered] precious services during these few days, [not only] towards the holy religion of Islam, but also to the core of all religions, and [not only] towards the great Quran, but also to the core of all holy books and towards the nation’s independence and protection of the monarchy, the government, the army and all the people of Iran, and the Muslims of the world, by partially removing and revealing to some extent the thick veil from a political party which is named the Baha’i Faith. This party has concealed its intentions, and for almost a hundred years, with organized structure, and by spending an exorbitant amount of money from unknown sources, and by spreading vast propaganda against the nation’s official religion—which is the cause of national unity—secretly worked against the monarchy and the government. [Your services] were the cause of great joy for this humble servant and all Muslims, and the cause of the happiness of His Holiness the Imam of the Period [the Promised Qaim]—may our souls be sacrificed for Him.

Although the whole nature of the matter is not yet exposed, and speeches from the pulpit are not able to uncover more than this, only the serious efforts of the government can slowly reveal those harmful networks and redeem the country from great damage—as it has succeeded in similar cases and will continue to succeed. I believe, according to the nation’s wise men, that damage by this party to the country’s independence is far greater, because there is a difference between the enemy who openly shows hostility, and the enemy who pretends to be a friend.

In closing, I remind you that this wretched party has influenced many of the affairs of the country and the government. The correspondence and telegrams I receive from different cities clearly indicate this fact. For example, in the middle of the night, it was witnessed that a group of people entered the house of a poor old woman who was sleeping on the floor with her five innocent minor children, and atrociously cut up their bodies with picks and shovels. Only by the urging of Muslims, and some other efforts, did they hang one person; the rest were left to themselves. This means that this sect has complete influence in the government organizations; therefore, it is important to purge the nation’s organizations, ministries and other sensitive positions of this sect.

We beseech God, Exalted be He, to strengthen the holy religion of Islam, and the holy Jafari sect, and to confirm those who endeavour in the propagation of religion.

Preparing a List of Records in the Haziratu’l-Quds

According to the information, in order to prepare the list of the Baha’is, the files which are available in the Haziratu’l-Quds and are now in the possession of the police force, will be used.

Demonstrations against the Baha’is in Damghan

On Sunday evening, some residents of Damghan attacked the houses of Baha’is and aimed at driving them out of their homes and the city. But police intervened and prevented any clashes and the occurrence of any undesirable incidents.

What Will Be the Deal With the Haziratu’l-Quds?

Boycotting Baha’ism

His Holiness Ayatollah Behbahani told our correspondent, “Today, one of the clerics who was in the presence of Ayatollah Borujerdi came to visit me and said, “The ayatollah is very pleased with the occupation of the Haziratu’l-Quds, the centre of the Baha’is and their persecution, and he believes that this activity should continue in order to eradicate them completely.”

The issue of a boycott of the Baha’is is of great interest to the Muslims. Today, Parliament convened a private meeting to prepare a single-clause article with the opinion of the members of parliament and the cabinet to ban Baha’is and expel Baha’is from the government offices.

Telegraphic Petition of Bazaar Merchants to the Presence of King

To His Majesty, Beloved Emperor of Iran,

O King of Kings, we, the merchants of Boozarjomehri Avenue, hereby express our gratitude to your blessed presence for issuing the order concerning the closing of the nest of corruption of the Baha’i sect, which is the wish of the entire Muslim nation of Iran, and we ask God Almighty for the survival and the reign of that beloved Muslim emperor over the hearts of the Muslims. We call on the authority of the monarchy, now that [Your Highness] with God’s help, has ordered the evacuation of the perverse Baha’i sect from the Haziratu’l-Quds, to order that the said place be dedicated to teaching or [turned into] a place of worship for people, and also that those who have acted treacherously against our religion and nation be oppressed and punished.
