Jadidollah Ashraf moved to Tehran in 1943, and then years later, in April 1974, he and his family pioneered to Tabriz. In 1977, they moved to a small town near Qazvin where he was elected on the Local Spiritual Assembly. He was a member in that capacity until the time of his arrest and imprisonment.
He was arrested on 11 April 1982. Some months later, on 9 July 1982, he was executed by firing squad, together with Mohammad Mansouri, Mohammad Abbasi and Manouchehr Farzaneh-Moayyad. Their bodies were buried in a village called Kakin, 50 km outside of Qazvin, by their families.
