Anti-Iranian Resolution in the U.S. House of Representatives in Support of the Baha’is
In an interventionist move, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a resolution in support of the Baha’is in Iran.
According to ISNA, reporting from the U.S. House of Representatives news site, the U.S. House of Representatives, in an anti-Iranian and interventionist move, passed a resolution introduced by a Republican representative, Ileana Ros-Lehtinen condemning the prosecution of Baha’is by Iran.
Ed Royce, Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, also endorsed the resolution in a statement, claiming that the Baha’is are the largest non-Muslim religious minority in Iran.
He continued, “I am pleased to join my colleagues in supporting this resolution, which condemns this heinous violation of human rights. Today we sent a strong message of support to all Iranians who want freedom and democracy.”
According to ISNA, [when] those who interfere in the internal affairs of [other] countries issue such resolutions, we witness that they have the highest number of human rights violations in their countries, while in Iran, all ethnic groups and people of all religions live together in freedom and peace.
