Subject: Personnel [who are] followers of the Baha’i sect
Date: 29 Aban 1359 [20 November 1980]
As there may be a possibility of staff amongst Armed Forces personnel who have not yet been identified as followers of the Baha’i sect and who are still continuing their army service, you are accordingly ordered to communicate the following to each and every member of the staff.
A – In the case of an individual who is a follower of said doctrine, that person must attend the appropriate unit by 10 Azar 1359 [1 December 1980] or he will be dealt with according to the Act that was approved on 29 Aban 1358 [20 November 1979].
B – In the case of an individual who is a follower of the above doctrine and fails to turn himself in by 10 Azar 1359 [1 December 1980], and subsequently is identified by the authorities [as a Baha’i], he will be dealt with as follows:
1 – Dismissal from the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran (AJA)
2 – All wages paid to him from 10 Azar 1359 [1 December 1980] to the date of his dismissal will be taken back.
3 – His action is deemed by the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran (AJA) to be an act of espionage on behalf of international Zionism, and he will be prosecuted accordingly.
