Plans for Destruction of the Baha’i Cemetery in Shiraz
HRANA News Agency – A group of people brought a loader and an excavator to the Baha’i cemetery (Eternal Garden) of Shiraz aiming to destroy the place.
According to reporters of HRANA, the Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran, on Monday, 8 Ordibehesht 1393 [28 April 2014] a group of people [brought] a loader and an excavator to the cemetery (Golestan Javid/Eternal Garden) of the Baha’is of Shiraz, intending to demolish the cemetery for the construction of a cultural compound in its place.
It is noteworthy that the cemetery has been especially designated for the Baha’i victims of the executions in the decade of the 60s [1360s (1980s)].
Based on the latest news, the equipment is at the cemetery but destruction has not yet begun.
