Brutal Slaughter of Baha’i Couple

According to the news published in the clerical journals of Tehran, some unknown individuals attacked the farm of a [Baha’i] couple last week in the Village of Nouk, in the vicinity of Birjand. After slaughtering the seventy-year-old man, named Masoumi, they burned [his] wife alive. The Tehran journals have stated the reason for this crime as “unknown”, but according to the news we have received, the reason for this incident was that the husband and wife were Baha’is.

The Baha’i community, in a letter addressed to the Islamic Assembly, has strongly condemned this heinous crime and has requested the prosecution of the case.
