Ruling number 2/791/77

Based on a report from the Ministry of Intelligence, some members of the perverse Baha’i sect, by setting up an illegal group under the title “Friends of Iran” in Isfahan, have proceeded to establish a secret institution by the name of the Advanced Baha’i Studies Institute, and are attracting youth and carrying out propaganda against Islam and the regime of the Islamic Republic. After a judicial order had been obtained and the premises of the institute had been inspected, four of the members were arrested and their deviant books and publications confiscated. After repeated investigations and interrogations and the final defence of the arrested members, the court has made the following ruling:


1) Mr. Sina Hakiman, son of Tarazollah, with birth certificate number [redacted] and born in [redacted] resident of [redacted], [whose] profession is general practitioner [medical doctor] and [who] has a criminal record with a similar offence described on page 42 of the case file, and was sentenced by the Islamic Revolutionary Court of Tehran to ten years of imprisonment in 1362 [1983], and who, after having spent five years, was forgiven by virtue of Islamic clemency, has now abused that mercy and the Islamic pardon, is one of the active members of the sect in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad and is in charge of setting up Baha’i education as indicated in pages 13 through 18 and 28 through 32 of the investigation pamphlet by the Ministry of Intelligence and in pages 14 through 17 and 28 through 32 of this court’s case file, and has [made] an explicit confession of the alleged offences, in view of his previous record of abusing Islamic clemency, based on section 498 of Islamic Discretionary Punishment Law, dated 6 Khordad 1375 [26 May 1996], is definitively sentenced to ten years of imprisonment, which includes the period of interim detention.

2) Mr. Farzad Khajeh Sharafabadi, son of Nasrollah, with birth certificate number [redacted] and born in [redacted] from and resident of [redacted], and [one of the] members of the perverse Baha’i sect and the secretary of the Advanced Baha’i Studies Institute, affiliated with the Baha’is’ Universal House of Justice and Israel, who, in pages 9 through 11 and 24 and 25 of the case file, has confessed and is confessing to the alleged offences and is also in charge of the upkeep of the Baha’i books, based on section 498 of the aforementioned law, is definitively sentenced to seven years of imprisonment, which includes the period of interim detention.

3) Habibollah Ferdowsian Najafabadi, son of Yadollah, with birth certificate number [redacted] and born in [redacted] from [redacted], resident of [redacted], a follower of the Baha’i Faith and a member of the illegal [Advanced Baha’i Studies Institute] and in charge of executive support and distribution of books among members and students affiliated with that perverse Baha’i sect, who, in pages 12 and 13 and 26 and 27 of the case file, has confessed to the alleged offences and [whose] wife and daughters are actively involved in that illegal institute,  based on section 498 of the Islamic Discretionary Punishment Law, is definitively sentenced to seven years of imprisonment, which includes the period of interim detention.

 

4) Ziaollah Mirzapanah, son of Mohammad-Ali, with birth certificate number [redacted], issued from [redacted], and born in [redacted] resident of [redacted], liaison between Teheran and Esfahan and the [Advanced Baha’i Studies Institute] and [has had] active involvement against the regime of the Islamic Republic, who, in pages 18-19-22-23 and 59 of the case file, has confessed to the alleged [activities mentioned], based on section 498 of Islamic Discretionary Punishment Law, is definitively sentenced to three years of imprisonment, which includes the period of interim detention.

All the confiscated books and magazines and publications will be delivered to the relevant sources.
