Abdol-Hamid Masoumi’s Gift to Nasrin Sotoudeh

Abdol-Hamid Masoumi calligraphed and gilded one of the works of Mirza Husayn-Ali Nuri and presented it to the lawyer of the Baha’is of the world.

Ferghe News - Baha’ism section ... One of these currents and thoughts is a sect named Baha’ism. Due to the limitations of this sect in our Islamic country, its news and beliefs are less visible. However, from time to time, news is heard about this sect from some corners, which is worth pondering. One of these news items that was recently published on a site, [mentions] that a person named Abdol-Hamid Masoumi has calligraphed and gilded one of the works of Mirza Husayn-Ali Nuri and donated it to the Baha’is of the world!

But the matter of who Mr. Masoumi Tehrani is requires another opportunity. He seems to be introduced in foreign media and Baha’i sites under the title of Ayatollah Abdol-Hamid Masoumi. In his recent meeting with Mrs. Nasrin Sotoudeh (the lawyer for the Baha’is and one of the defendants in the sedition of 1388 [2009]), he presented her with a painting of the symbols of the Baha’i sect that he had created in his own hand.

Now, [on this subject], we ask a few questions of Mr. Masoumi:

  1. Dear Mr. Masoumi, in the site assigned to you, you have said: “God does not send anyone to heaven or hell just because he is a Muslim or a Christian, a Jew, a Zoroastrian, a Baha’i, etc.”!!! To which of the teachings of Islam does this statement correspond? Does the verse “Certainly, Allah’s only Way is Islam”[1] tell you this? So why did the Prophet of Islam make arduous efforts to make the Jews and Christians of his time believe in Islam? Or, in the first place, why did the Prophet bring a new religion called Islam on behalf of God Almighty?
  2. Mr. Masoumi, are you familiar with the Baha’i sect’s beliefs about God, the Prophet and the Lord of the Age (peace be upon Him) that you consider Baha’ism a saviour religion for mankind?
  3. [Based on] which one of the [sic] religious principles do you approve of people who consider the Almighty God as a human being (Mirza Husayn-Ali Nuri considers himself the God of mankind), while throughout the history, the jurists and elders of the religion and authorities of the past and present have pointed out the invalidity of this sect and its deviation, and have issued fatwas[2].
  4. Mr. Masoumi, in which school of religious leaders did you study that you have such a belief? And do those elders believe the same? Mention the names of your professors, if possible.

In the end, the author of these few lines, although he knows that your articles and views on Baha’ism are delusional and false ... but here I declare my readiness to discuss and debate about this absurdity and the emptiness of this religion.
