Ayatollah Mousavi Bojnordi the member of the Supreme Judiciary Council

The Islamic Revolutionary Courts Have Not Arrested or Executed Anyone Merely for Being Baha’i.

Ayatollah Mousavi Bojnourdi, member of the Supreme Judiciary Council and Head of the Supreme Islamic Revolutionary Court, stated, in response to recent claims of a group of the American mass media about the situation of the Baha’is in Iran:   the Islamic Revolutionary Courts have not arrested or executed anyone merely for being Baha’i.

Speaking with a journalist from the Islamic Republic [Bojnourdi] said, “Baha’ism is not one of the [officially recognized] religious minorities and according to the Imam, may his shadow be long, it is a political party and its activities support America and the Tyrannical Regime of Israel and this is entirely provable in the light of documents obtained after the Islamic Revolution.  Notwithstanding all of this, the Islamic Revolutionary Courts have not arrested or executed anyone merely for being Baha’i. However, a few Baha’is have been executed for having engaged in the criminal activity of espionage, just as some who have not been Baha’i have been executed for this crime.

According to the member of the Supreme Judiciary Council, the outright confessions of these people written in their own handwriting and signed by them are available, all of which indicate their collaboration with the Israeli security services and their [i.e., the Baha’is] having provided financial support to them.
