Ali Motahhari’s Opinion About Starred Students
Khabar Online: On Saturday night in the Khabar Online clubhouse, Ali Motahhari, one of the presidential candidates, said, “If a singer performs abroad and does not have economic or political problems, what is wrong with him coming and performing? These are not important issues at all. In another part of the conversation, Motahhari said, “Starred students are approved by the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution. It is the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution that has imposed restrictions on Baha’is, not the parliament. At first, I thought it was ratified by the parliament, but then I realized that the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution has approved it. This resolution is enacted by the [Supreme] Council and does not exist in the constitution at all.
