Two Baha’is kidnapped

Haifa (Israel), July 14: Two prominent members of Baha’i community have been kidnapped in Tehran, according to a spokesman for the Baha'i World Center.

The men, Jahangir Hidayati [Hedayati] and Ahmad Bashiri, were walking down a Tehran street last week when they were seized, said Donald Barrett, Secretary-General of the Baha’i World Centre in Haifa.

He said the Iranian authorities had denied knowledge of the men's whereabouts and that another four Baha’is had been arrested in Tehran. – Reuter
