Bahar Vojdani

Executed by firing squad in Mahabad on 27th September 1979


Bahar Vojdani was born into a Baha’i family.  After completing his high school education he pioneered to Mahabad.  He served on the Local Spiritual Assembly[1] of Mahabad for many years. 

On 26 September 1979 he was called to the police headquarters in Mahabad and interrogated.  He was released for the night and ordered to return the next morning, which he obeyed.  At his presentation the following day he was arrested and promptly given the death sentence.  He was executed by firing squad at 4 am on 27 September 1979.  His body was laid to rest by his family, in the presence of some 2,000 townsmen and in accordance with Baha’i law.
