Declaration of the condition of amnesty for prisoners due to Eid-e Qorban [Eid al-Adha - or Festival of Qorban]

Tehran – Jomhouri-e Eslami News Agency: Convicts sentenced by public courts, the Revolutionary Courts and the Judicial Organization of the Armed Forces are subject to amnesty

The superintendent of the high courts also said, “According to this decree, which has been conveyed to all the Revolutionary Courts, courts, and the Justice Organization of the Armed Forces, all those condemned to imprisonment except the counter-revolutionary gangs, importers, manufacturers of high-end narcotics [drug] distributors, influential members of the perverse sect [Baha’is], spies, those convicted of rape, professional fraudsters, armed robbers, those convicted of embezzlement, bribers and kidnappers [abductors] will be subject to the pardoning decree of His Honour, Grand Ayatollah Montazeri, and will be freed from prison…
