300 Demonstrators Make Threats

The Baha’is of “Gata[1]” in Yasuj were threatened that their belongings will be looted if they do not become Muslim.

Yasuj - Ayandegan reporter- Following demonstrations, more than 300 people from among the residents of lower Boyer Ahmad began moving toward the “Gata” area located 90 kilometers from Yasuj, and after placing the area under siege demanded that the residents, who are said to be “Baha’is,” convert to Islam.

The demonstrators threatened the residents of “Gata” saying that if they do not convert to Islam, they will pillage their belongings.

At this time, Ayatollah Malek-Hoseini, religious leader of Yasuj, accompanied by Lieutenant Bagheri, Head of Gendarmerie [Police] Station of that city, as well as other officers, went to the “Gata” area, and with the intercession of Ayatollah Malek-Hoseini the demonstrators were dispersed and abandoned their violent intentions.
