Respected Central Committee of the Islamic Revolution of Imam Khomeini- Tabriz Region

Respected Head of the Mayors’ Offices of Eastern Azerbaijan

Reverently we inform you that, based on the report of the custodian of the Hazíratu’l-Quds [1] of Tabriz, located at [address is provided], on Monday, 21 Esfand 1357 [12 March 1979], around 12:00 noon, seven armed individuals who introduced themselves as Revolutionary Guards and Representatives of the [Revolutionary?] Committee, entered the aforementioned place and, in addition to breaking down the doors and windows and the doors to the closets, they broke into the safe and took all of the books, magazines, papers, files, and documents of the Tabriz Baha’i community, including the Wills and Testaments of some of the Bahá'ís.

In view of the foregoing, and pursuant to the report dated 21 Esfand 1357 [12 March 1979], we request that you order an investigation of this matter and take whatever steps are necessary to return the above-mentioned files and books [to the Bahá'í community].  Given that, based on the instructions of the Grand Ayatollah, Imam Khomeini, leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, and other dignitaries, entering homes and destroying [community] premises has been forbidden, we hope that the respected members of that committee will take such action as will enable the Bahá'í community of Tabriz to also benefit from this general decree of the Imam.

With expressions of respect – Bahá'í Community of Tabriz
