Iran in Last Week

Execution of Smugglers, Drug Dealers, and Supporters of the previous Regime Continues

During last week, total of 31 individuals in six cities of Tabriz, Isfahan, Rasht, Mashhad, Hamadan, and Sabzevar were executed.

Of that number, 19 individuals were executed for the offenses relating to smuggling, armed robbery causing death, and bribery. The crimes of the other 12 were corruption, adultery, sodomy, cooperation with the previous regime and actions against the Islamic Republic. Among those named were the Baha’i leaders of Azerbaijan and Tabriz, who faced the firing squad for the offenses of espionage, provision of information to Israel and collecting and sending money to the Jews. These two [Baha’i] doctors were Bagher Samandari and Yadollah Astani.
