Azamatollah Fahandej

Azamatollah Fahandej was born into a Baha’i family.  After completing tenth grade, he enrolled in military school in Tehran and graduated with the rank of junior lieutenant.  He worked for the police force in Shiraz, Kermanshah, Ahvaz, Isfahan, Naft-e-Sefid and Zanjan, and later attained the rank of second Colonel in the Air-Force.

Azamatollah Fahandej was arrested in Tehran on 15 April 1979 and imprisoned in Adilabad prison the next day.  His final trial was conducted on 15 November 1979 and the verdict of execution issued on 27 November 1979.  He was executed by firing squad on 14 December 1979.
