Explanation of Ayatollah Alavi Borujerdi’s Office Regarding the Remarks of the Custodian of the Azam Mosque in a Meeting with Sheikh Khalid Matar Al-Tamimi

Shafaqna (Shia News Association) - The office of Ayatollah Alavi Borujerdi issued a statement regarding the recent meeting between the custodian of the Azam Mosque and Sheikh Khalid Matar Al-Tamimi, head of the law department at Bahr al-Ulum [Institute] in the Najaf al-Ashraf, and its coverage in the media.

According to Shafaqna, following some questions from this office regarding the [meeting] of Ayatollah Alavi Borujerdi with Sheikh Khalid Matar Al-Tamimi, the head of the law department of Bahr al-Ulum [Institute] in the Najaf al-Ashraf, and its reflection in news agencies and news sites, he offered the following explanation [in response] to the questions:

Baha’ism, just like Wahhabism and Qadiani, are religions made up by colonial powers among Muslim societies based on false and perverted beliefs in recent times, with the aim of creating division and separation in Islamic society.

And the issue is raised, in the authoritative and blessed words of Amir al-Mu’minin (BPUH) in his time, addressed to Malik al-Ashtar Nakhaiy, [Arabic verse][1]. Also, the description of human rights is independent of any belief, and does not include items such as misguidance, corruption, and apostasy. And the right of citizenship is legally the same as the right of citizenship considered in constitutions for all born in every country. This is also recognized in our constitution, and it does not mean protecting the perpetrator and [allowing] immunity from the Sharia and legal boundaries...
