His Honour, Prime Minister,

In response to [your?] letter 2273 of 24 Esfand 1322 [15 March 1944] regarding the gathering of the residents of Azarshahr for the purpose of looting the houses belonging to the Baha’is, we hereby advise that according to a recent report from the Office of the Governor General of Tabriz, on the fourth of Esfand 1322 [24 February 1944], the residents of Azarshahr attacked some of the houses of the Baha’is, looted them, and then set them on fire, which was thwarted as a result of the intervention of the police and the help of some gendarmes, and peace has now returned. The matter is under investigation by the Court.
