Ataollah Yavari

Ataollah Yavari was born into a Baha’i family. He was elected to the Local Spiritual Assembly[1] of Tehran after the abduction of the secretary of the Local Assembly, Ruhi Rowshani in January 1980.

Ataollah Yavari was arrested on 2 November 1981, during a Local Spiritual Assembly meeting, together with the five other members, Kourosh Talaie, Khosrow Mohandesi, Eskandar Azizi, Fathollah Ferdawsi and Shiva Mahmoudi Asadollah-Zadeh, and their hostess Shidrokh Amir-Kiya (Bagha). They were imprisoned at Evin prison and executed on 4 January 1982.

Their bodies were not returned to their families; they were possibly buried by the authorities.
