Seminary and University Professor: The History of Baha’ism Has Been Marked by Betrayal, Sedition and Superstition

On the Pretext of the Forty-Second Anniversary of the Victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran

Bahaism in Iran: Hojatoleslam Ali-Reza Rouzbahani, among the researchers of Sects and Religions in Tabriz, stating that the Baha’i sect has 176 years of history in Iran, all of which have been associated with betrayal, sedition and superstition, noted, “Never has the gift of the Baha’i sect been useful, and this disgraceful sect has not done any good throughout its history.”

This professor from the seminary and the university pointed out, “During the 176 years since the formation of this sect, it has been nothing but superstition, betrayal, and violence; in all of its historical periods, this sect has not served the people at any time. If it has taken a step, it has been, in fact, a deception; they have played games with people.”

[He said,] “Unfortunately, there are now eight million people all over the world infected with the poisonous thought of Baha’ism”. [He declared], “You should not consider the Baha’i sect as an ordinary sect and [you should] not get to know it, because some people think these people are calm, silent and have nothing to do with anyone, and this is the problem we are facing.”

Rouzbahani emphasized that Baha’ism was continuously present in the sedition of 1388 [2009] and was the main cause of the sedition in Ashura 1388 [January 2010]. He added, “Even today, in recent events, the hand of this sect is fully visible.”

The seminary and university professor from Shiraz stated, “Burning the Quran was not due to anger over economic issues, but anger over religion and the Holy Quran. In fact, the Baha’i sect came into being through the dirty hands of the British Empire and the Russian Tsars.”

He added, “This sect has existed in the country for many years and there was all kinds of opposition to it, including negative actions, the writing of numerous books, and establishing the Mahdism Hojjatieh Charitable Society to monitor the Baha’i sect and train preachers to confront this sect.”

He stated, “It is clear to everyone that the interests of the colonialists are achieved through division and sedition among the Islamic nation. Nine Baha’i ministers were active in the cabinet during the Pahlavi era; even the minister of education was a Baha’i [sic].”

Rouzbahani continued, “At that time, there was an unwritten law in the army that if you want to progress, you must be a Baha’i. In fact, with the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran in 1357 [1979], the Baha’i backbone was broken.
