Letter from Scholars and Clerics to His Imperial Majesty about the Baha’i Sect
As we wrote earlier on Monday evening, a large gathering of the scholars and clerics was formed at Ayatollah Khansari’s house.
In this gathering, Ayatollah Najafi Shahrestani attended on behalf of Ayatollah Borujerdi.
After much discussion about the Baha’i sect, it was decided to write a letter to His Majesty Homayoun and make the following three requests:
1. Parliament’s legislation on declaring the Baha’i sect as illegal
2. Expelling all the Baha’is from the offices
3. Confiscation of all Baha’i public properties
And then the following three people were selected to present the petition to the shah: Haj Sheikh Mohammad Ali Lavasani, Najafi Shahrestani, Haj Bagher Agha Qomi.
