After graduating from high school, Abdol-Hosein Azadi was employed by the Ministry of Agriculture in the city of Bushehr. He was a member of the Local Spiritual Assembly there, and was later transferred to Kazeroun and Shiraz. In 1978, to propagate the Baha’i Faith, he and his family pioneered to a town called Akbarabad, outside Shiraz. He was a member of the Local Spiritual Assembly of Akbarabad.
On 29 November 1982, Abdol-Hosein Azadi was arrested and held at the Sepah Detention Centre. He was tortured severely during his imprisonment, causing internal bleeding to his stomach and lungs. Finally, on 16 June 1983, he was executed by hanging, together with five other believers, Kourosh Ḥaghbin, Bahram Afnan, Bahram Yaldaie, Jamshid Siyavushi and Enayatollah Eshraghi.
